I think where you live within Daybreak determine if your fees are "resonable". I pay almost $200/month to live in a townhome and I gotta tell you, I don't believe I am getting my monies worth. I have family that also lives in Daybreak and they pay $50/month and I don't get much more for my HOA fees.

I'm assuming you are in the Holmes carriage condos. One of the expenses that makes your HOA fees so expensive is the monitoring for the sprinkling system. I don't know why, but Holmes picked a system that requires two phone lines per building and expensive monthly monitoring. My guess is they got some great "deal" from Firetrol to use their system. I used to live in Ivy Springs (same design) in West Jordan, and the HOA used reserve money to switch over to a wireless monitoring system (and a different monitoring company) - substantially reduced the monthly cost. Although with our HOA, they would never admit that Holmes picked a bad system that only benefitted them.
