is about 175k to 185k, so if the JSD super was paid a "competitive" wage of 185k it would save 28k, which is about the cost of a new/jr. teacher.

Canyons has 33k students, Jordan has 49k & is growing considerably more. I'd like to see how you averaged out what you feel someone else's salary should be. Did you compare # of schools/students? Did you gather all superintendent's salary and give an average?

The superintendent of Granite makes $200k+. You have to compare relevant data. Comparing Canyons administrators to Jordan's is not going to give unbiased data. The Jordan superintendent took a 10% paycut last year. I think it's been well established that his salary is not out of line and a bit irrelevant to the problems facing the JSD.
