Our house was completely ignored last year for Trick-or-treaters which makes me think only active LDS homes are visited. It's a shame! Anyway, we will be ready with treats on both nights just in case someone is brave enough to knock on our door! We are really nice people who love kids! The news people covered this topic and suggest being ready for both nights as well.

Non-LDS here, drink wine and coffee on the porch yet we ran through several bags of Candy last year.

We're not church members and we run out of candy every year despite loading up. I think it has a lot to do with location. Just wanted to add that to let you know it's not you. ;)

My neighbors, who are not LDS, only received ONE trick or treater in Daybreak last year. (I wasn't here last year, so I can't speak for myself.) So I don't think it's just you!

We had only 4 or 5 trick-or-treaters last year, and I'm one of those scoundrel Mormons. :-)

I think it's because we didn't have many neighbors last year. I'm hoping for more kids this year.

Come on up to Northshore. We don't care which religion you are or aren't. Candy is candy! :-)

How are the people out trick or treating supposed to know who is active LDS or not? I am sorry that you didn't get many last year, but please don't try and blame LDS members for it. That is just wrong.

I didn't intend to offend anyone with my "LDS" comment and apologize if I have. I'm not putting blame anywhere, just wondering if perhaps children are guided by parents to go to only the homes of those who they know and trust. This to me does seem like a safe and sound practice and if I had small children I would follow that rule. Again, I'm sorry for not being more careful and appropriate with my first comment.

Julie,
I don't live in Daybreak, so I don't know how many kids Daybreak residents should expect. I have noticed fewer trick or treaters in general the last few years. Most people find "safer" activities. SoDa Row will have a safe Trick-or-Treat Street on Saturday, October 30 from 3-5pm.
