Thanks- we will definitely fight this! When we moved in we gave the HOA copies of our closing documents so we could get our ID cards. We also have papers that indicated the seller is responsible for the fees. Too bad that didn't stop them from issuing us the bill with our names on it!
Unfortunately, I do not have a copy of the fees our sellers paid at closing, but since the sellers agent is a Daybreak resident and we used the same title company as the sellers, our bases "should" have been covered.

Thanks for the encouragment and helpful info! It is nice to have a forum to ask questions and get feedback re: HOA issues.

just and FYI- in a meeting in March with Don Whyte President of KL Mr. Wimmer (he is a lawyer and a broker so he knos his stuff) suggested a good fix to the faulty process that our johnny on the spot HOA had in place (and might still be). I know that on many homes this was never collected, which was confirmed by the HOA office. I really hope you didn't pay the bill, even if you did you should be able to get the money back pretty easy, call Mr. Wimmer (Bion) he will know exactly what to do...
