Whether the lake is a public or private... There is no reason we should have to pay extra to "Hire" an off duty officer to have South Jordan Police do their job.

I couldn't agree more, grandmabarb, it's the right thing for them to do. Normally our HOA is not responsible for an amenity until it is turned over by Kennecott and accepted by our HOA management. The lake isn't officaly finished and even if it were, the cost of insurance and upkeep would bankrupt our little HOA. If we were to follow the rules, the HOA should not be responsible for the cost of security.

However, part of the responsibility of security is to monitor the skate park(FYI another hot topic of discussion at the meeting) which belongs to the HOA. So we would have to share in that expense accordingly.
