Did anyone else get a notice from the Recreation Manager about the conversion/expiration of punch cards in the mail?

Did anyone else buy into the ponzi scheme in the first place?

I purchased 2 cards sometime earlier this year after expressly asking if they ever expire and was told that they will never expire. Now they will be converted 2 for one on January 1, 2010 and will expire completely March 31, 2010. If I had known that I wouldn't have purchased the cards in the first place. I don't get to the DCC with my kids often enough to use my cards by the end of the year especially with all the holiday activities going on and I'm not too keen on throwing away my money.

Has anyone else dealt with this yet? Is anyone crazy enough to take another's word at face value these days?

I got a notice today in the mail. The last time I used my punch card was almost two years ago. It's WAY too expensive to take all three of my kids to the DCC to workout...much better to go to Gold's...it's a drive, but I don't have to pay $100+ a month to workout. When you have three little ones, it adds up quickly at the DCC and it was not worth it...I think it is crappy that the punch cards are expiring...why? Dumb if you ask me!

I got one as well and do not have kids young enough anymore. Do you all know if there is a way to transfer it to someone else?

The first punch cards they used at the DCC childcare didn't expire, but when they adjusted the pricing they adjusted the way the cards could be used, too, I believe.

At least you got a notice in the mail! I lost some daycare time last year and had no idea it was expiring until I went for one last class and they said, "Oh by the way you have three days to use 5 hours of daycare." Huh.

And, yes, I have seen people donate their childcare punchcards to someone else. They arranged it through the daycare ladies.
