The next BOD meeting is on 5/27/09, what topics do we need to address with the board?

Budget
Cancelling the CCMC contract (margins way too high)
HOA misconduct
Village Center/114th saftey
Temple Traffic safety
Builder lien issues
Hamlett landscaping/HOA misconduct issue
Pool dates being extended May 1st to Sept 30th (in 2010) May 22nd to Sept 30th (2009)

I will think of some more later....

I understand there will be parking along Daybreak Rim Parkway for the new town homes/condos that are going in on the south side. I welcome it since it will slow traffic down and reduce cars from parking on my street, but I have concerns about how practical it will be since it doesn't seem too safe.

The current "shoulder" / parking lane seems very narrow and it doesn't seem like it will it be safe to get out of your car. I would be nervous opening my door and getting out on the traffic side, especially as traffic gets heavier. Has the HOA/KL thought about indenting the curb like they do for parking on other streets?

Lance, in order for parking to ever be approved for a street, the street must be wide enough for a car to fit, as well as maintain a minimum width for travel. The width is based on the amount of traffic for the road as well (calculated from a number of places including the number of residencies that will be accessing the road on a daily basis). You are right about one thing, it will slow down traffic since anytime you reduce the width of travel, people have the tendancy to naturally slow down. Personally, I don't care for the indents. I believe it encourages poor parking habits since people seem to think they have the additional 2 feet on top of what they would have if the indent weren't there. Not sure why that is, but just an observation! Either way, if you contact KL, they can direct you to the design engineer who can verify if it is safe or not (I believe it is Stantec but I'm not completely sure). I personally wouldn't accept their word for it since they do have a way of distorting the facts in their favor. The design engineer on the other hand has a professional obligation to be completely honest with you.

Here's one: Why do we have to pay for a crappy(pun intended), dangerous park like the Dog Park? Great idea and bravo to Luckyfish who worked their tails off on getting it installed but KL should be ashamed of themselves in the execution of this disaster. I CANNOT believe they even put it in their marketing materials!! And what am I paying for?!?! Stickers, burrs and goatheads, future vet bills??

I must say the dog park does have me scratching my head! I don't even have a dog, but when I walk by the dog park I often think that if I had a dog, I wouldn't let it play in the so called "Dog Park"!
