We got a letter saying a lien was about to be placed on our house by Stock building supply quite a few months after we'd moved in. They claimed that Gold Medallion hadn't paid their bills for supplies. Needless to say, we weren't happy, as the dispute was between Stock and GMH, and the lien was illegal.

Just because the lien is between Stock and GMH doesn't make it illegal. That is what a lien is... and GMH hasn't exactly been on top of paying their bills lately. Part of the reason they went through some major layoffs as well.

Gold Medallion is on thin ice, at the moment, despite some great work in Village 3A. I suspect that these new apartments near Daybreak Rim may be an attempt to "pull their fat out of the fire"! No one on Tep View is surprised by the new building initiative but the nature of the buildings is, indeed, disappointing.

Thin ice is being nice! I'd say they're in deeper than they realize, digging deeper by the minute! I'm interested to see how the apartments go for them considering the extents of their knowledge have been 3 story condos that were outsourced. They don't have the staff capacity or knowledge to take on this type of project. Shoot, I'm surprised they're still building houses considering they've laid off nearly their entire staff of supers (including every lead super for each subdivision!). Sad really, but for a small builder I'm surprised they've managed to hold out this long so they may be able to pull through.

yeah...that is sad to hear about Gold Medallion....I heard the Destination Homes was also barely hanging on as well....It would be a same if both of them went bankrupt
