The SJPD determined, that the young girl who reported that she was approached by an unknown man who produced a knife and told her to "drink something", was lying., Her description of the suspect matched a person of interest which is why it took some time to get to the bottom of the situation. After the events of the weekend the detectives, from the SJPD, ended up questioning the girl and it was then they were able to determine that the young girl had lied...
While that makes us parents feel safe, it was some time before it was determined that the incident was bogus but there were no announcements by either the police or HOA to emphasize the need to be vigilant where our children are concerned...
Thanks goes out to the Daybreak HOA team for their reactive response and efforts to get the word out... they certainly got to the bottom of the situation when fingers were pointed at them and the community was not informed about possible risks.
