I wanted to let everyone know that on 9/11/08 the City of South Jordan is having a volunteer day for the Hillside Park project. All of the City workers (most of them) will be coming out to help assist roll sod, put in flowers, weed, etc... The work will start at 9:00am and go to about 1:00pm ish. I encourage all homeowners that can make it to the volunteer day to help in the effort to fix Hillside Park to attend.
Here are some updates on the Hillside Park efforts:
* The pathway is being done today (concrete)
* The irrigation is being put in over the next week or two (Valleycrest never put in the proper irrigation ~go figure~)
* Grass in being put next the table areas & sandbox area
* 3 BBQ's will be put it
* A new playground will be added (a small one with swings and a slide, which younger kids can use~ the old climbing wall will stay, its too costly to remove it)
* New tree will be put in around the field and by the trail (this will be done in the spring 2009, it is too late in the season to put in the trees, besides the irrigation needs to be put in)
* concrete or asphalt will be put in by the tables and will be connected to the pathway (yes you will actually be able to use strollers at the park now...wow imagine that)
The Coty of South Jordan is putting a lot of money and resources into fixing this park for us and is trying to work with KL so this doesn't happen again...
Thanks to CCMC for dropping the ball on this one making sure that ValleyCrest was doing their job...
