I wish people would realize what mowing your lawn LONG actually does for it. We've mowed ours long all summer, and our next door neighbor has mowed theirs so incredibly short. The contrast between the two is significant, and ours has had less weeds, less crabgrass, and is a richer green. The only downfall is that you have to mow more often. But it's great exercise! Hopefully the long-grass thing catches on eventually. :/

People don't realize what longer grass can do, everything you mentioned LJ and so much more.
