By HOA rules, landlords are required to provide copies of the HOA rules to all tenants. Your landlady also is required to provide any lease agreement to the HOA. It is not uncommon for landlords to fail to do this to avoid having potential renters back out of agreements. Go to the HOA or to the community website to get a copy.

sorry to be so late in replaying to this, but the on street parking is news to me. It is difficult for me to park in the garage because I am renting a house with 3 other people. Therefore, 3 cars. I swap from week to week with one of them. Our landlady told us nothing of this when I asked about the parking situation. Many of my neighbors park on street for more than 24 hours. I don't see how this creates a problem for anyone. My car usually is gone when I'm at work, but on my days off, it usually is outside. Makes me wonder what else I wasn't told. When I asked for a copy of the HOA specifics, the landlady told me to use good judgement and that was it.

The problem with parking in the street is mainly during the winter months when the snowplows (claim) that they can't get through with cars on both sides. During the rest of the year, at least where sane drivers are involved, it helps to slow people down having cars parked on both sides.

That being said, as Sentinel said, it's your landlady's responsibility to inform you of the rules beyond just use good judgment. As many on this board will attest, not all of the rules put forth by the HOA or their enforcement thereof has anything to do with good judgment. However, if you get pulled over for speeding and you tell the cop that you didn't know what the speed limit is, you know what his response is going to be
