I'm not sure if others have seen this as well so I thought I'd check...
My husband noticed last friday that the construction workers by Topview and 104th had barrels full of fire. Nobody was standing around them but he said it appeared to him that the workers were burning the excess from their job. I didn't see it, but I'm wondering how to approach this (and hoping someone else has seen it as well since it seems that the workers are doing it when their aren't as many people around). With the air quality being so poor, that is obviously a concern, however there are houses very close by. Luckily not mine, but I'd hate to see any fire in our neighborhood as I'm sure many would be effected by it. Thoughts???

With our current Smog issue, it's unconscionable that they are burning. But then so is sitting in the long drive thru line at In & Out.
I suggest you contact Kennecott with the addresses where this is taking place and let them deal with it. The builders are their issue.

Open burning is against South Jordan's codes. Call 254-3742, ask for Mindy.

thanks lucky. I waited until I saw them doing it again which happened to be yesterday. I called South Jordan and since it was a red burn day they directed my call to the police dept. Hopefully they stop now that they have had a visit from the police. I'm sure they've done it more often than what I've seen but hopefully if anyone else sees it, they'll call it in as well. If they don't like working in the cold, then they should find a different job or a different local! I'd personally like to be able to breathe clean air in the near future!
