OK, looks like we are making the plunge and becoming a visionaries or maybe fools. My thinking is it will depend on whom you ask 3 years from now.

So my question is for someone moving across the country, what do you know now after living in the community for a while that you wish you knew before you moved in. Looking for your thoughts/ideas/rants on

~ best local sites/things to do
~ best companies/services that you have used -- grocery stores, banks, restaurants, local hangouts, landscapers (need to do our backyard)
~ things to avoid -- crazy cat lady, dog poop in the "natural areas" , hoa
~ any else I didn't ask -- i.e. run like hades or your love it.

I was very pleased with the work Sudlow and Saiche did on our flagstone work and landscaping. Terry Fitspatrick is the owner and lives here in Daybreak as well. He was happy to do as much or as little of the job as we wanted. Several other companies wanted to do the whole job or none at all. His number is 618-9747.

Would you build or buy existing?

landscaping - I would call luckyfish, Mike lives in Daybreak and does great work 419-7650

food - I am from southern cal and the food here isn't too great, although pei wei is coming to the district, amccools is good as well

Hey, sorry for not responding sooner and thanks for the tip on Sudlow and Saiche. We bought existing: not really interested in messing with construction for six months and we were generally happy with the features of the existing homes we toured.

Scoop, thanks for the info, and I will certainly contact luckyfish about taking a look at the landscaping, and mountain america looks like a great fit for what we need.
