"Daytimes" a waste? 15 Years ago

As I read the latest edition of the Daybreak "Daytimes", I couldn't help but feel like it is a collassal waste of money. There is no original information, most is distributed via the Email blasts, and really generic. It is printed on paper that is way too big and just seems unneccessary. Am I the only one who feels this way?
When the budget is so overextended, this seems like some thing that could easily be eliminated with out much notice from the residents of Daybreak. Joe, maybe a poll that CCMC could copy later?????

There seems to be as many ads as stories in there so it might be self funding, if not close. I think money would be better saved by shutting down the website that no one uses anymore. I logged on once to the new site, then never again. We get the e-mail blasts which tell us everything the website does, minus covents, etc. I personally kind of like the Daytimes.

The paper appears to be an after thought, space filled because it's there. 30 things to do on a spring day isn't worth a headline let alone the ink, paper, and postage.
I wonder how long the editor had to surf the net for inane filler to publish the spring edition.

I received my first Daytimes when I began looking into Daybreak and I just look at it now as a advertising tool for KL when people visit the information booths and we as residents get to pay for it!
I have a feeling the Daytimes would dissapear in a hurry if residents were allowed to write articales that pointed out both the good & the bad of Daybreak. The Daytimes isn't a community newspaper is just advertising!

I am actually working on a paper daybreak daily (kinda like the Daytimes, I actually thought about it 2 years ago but the community was so small then ti didn't seem useful), that should go out in Sept/Oct..it will be free for any Daybreak businesses, and the stories will have some real value, with input from all the writers and hopefully a few extra writers...I would be nice to get more info around on the radio stuff, pet club, village center, city/daybreak infastructure growth and saftey, and the CERT program since the community is growing...
The paper will be mailed to all homes in Daybreak and I would decide to do more (perhaps 4 per year) depending on the feedback...positive/negative
any ideas are welcome and if anyone wants to write an article on their clubs or community projects they would be welcome.
