There was a period when construction in the valley was so vigorous that cement was in short supply. The major suppliers started adulterating it with ash. That concrete is now crumbling everywhere. In Village 1, the public sidewalks, private sidewalks, private stairways, porches, basements, alleys and garage floors are crumbling, in places. I'm sure that the City of South Jordan is going to go after Kennecott for all of those areas where they can. Keeping in mind that the city has accepted many of the public areas, we can only expect to live with a crumbling and cracking infrastructure as many houses continue to move into foreclosure and default with good bargains available to those fortunate investors interested in our beautiful neighborhoods. The good news is, well, um, I'll enjoy the view, forever, except for the view of the Oquirrhs which is disappearing daily from the mounting pile of mine slag. Drat, I had hoped that this post would have been more rosy. Keep up the pressure on the builders and keep us up-to-date.
