What's the deal with the dams? 14 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 4  
I noticed this week the boat facility is up and running for the season. The fences have been removed from the second half of the lake and the trails are open. So why are the dams between the two halves still in place? I would love to go hop in a kayak and paddle around the whole lake. Also, I noticed a lot of mosquitoes hanging around the new playground/beach so a few larvae eating fish in that half would be a good thing.

Anyone know what the plan for removing the dams is?

The last I heard they were suppose to come down when the boat rentals started again. I guess it's one more thing to add to the agenda for the meeting this week!

The dams are gone - at least the one under the bridge by the playground/beach.

Yes, the weirs are gone! My husband was extremely pleased the report their removal after his bike ride today. We're anxious to take a boat out and explore the new portion of the lake.
