Oh well, I'll just cross my fingers my trees grow good, even though 3 of them have always seemed a little more weak than the others and bloom out a month later than the rest.

Make sure you have beds around the tree to allow plenty of root water. Fertilize your trees ASAP and every year following. There is no nutrional value to the soil used in the community. I won't go into how poorly the trees were planted.

If KL wants to replace them should I let them??? I talked to Melissa who talked to someone at KL. If I still have the microchips the want me to drop them off, I only have 3 of 5 and she said something about replacing them. I don't know if I should say yes or just not call her back and let my trees grow chip free.

Thoughts? If anyone wants a pic of what it did to my one tree I'd be happy to email it.

I don't think you will have a choice. The tiny bit of drilling they did shouldn't have hurt the tree that badly, but it wouldn't be the first time a KL contractor messed up. Just keep photos and document the trees progress if they insist on replacing the bugs.
