How about some coolers for the beer so it doesn't go skunky? Why is it OK for every grocery store in the state to have beer in coolers but not the church owned liquor stores?

Lol, I've wondered that for awhile too! I read on SLTrib one time that someone thought the higher alcohol content in the beer made it so it couldn't be kept cold. They were obviously not beer drinkers!

It is my understanding, the reason they dont want to have refrigerated beers is that once it is purchased the chances of it being consumed is high. They want the consumers to take their time and take it home and chill it there so the chances of DUI is cut back. Cold items sold by the DABC will be impossible to get now and in the future. FYI, I read a little while back our former president Abraham Lincoln, someone I respect highly had something to do with an ACT that prohibit cold beers in state liquor stores. I dont know where to confirm that but will post it if I see it again.

But the grocery and convenience stores sell it cold. And in a setting where it would be easier for minors to get their hands on it. I will never understand Utah and its arcane liquor laws.

Just so you all know. Come October 1 I believe, Wine coolers will no longer be sold in grocery stores. The state legislatures consider it a "gate way" drug. They will now only be sold at the state liquor stores. So stock up now if you need them.
