Jess, from what I was told by my builder was that unless its severe, or can cause tripping then they wouldn't replace it. I know most builders say the same thing since cracking and chipping is inevitable. Still... just call Holmes and have them at least come out and take a look. I just know the only reason my builder is being responsive is because we have severe settling which can cause tripping (over 2" elev. diff. between pads) and as a result which have huge chunks falling off.

From somebody who has battled Holmes Homes on multiple occasions, they will point you to your warranty documentation where it specifically says that concrete is excluded from warranty. From there, they will accuse you of putting salt on your driveway/sidewalks. They won't admit that they used shoddy materials. Lea Holliday is the warranty coordinator - lea@holmeshomes.com. What condition was your Destination driveway like when they replaced it? Ours was completed stripped off to gravel - basically no concrete on top before our one years (cracked since about 3 weeks after move in) and from the start they told us it was not covered.

My driveway and front walk were crumbling. I will have to admit that I had much better warranty people then as well. The warranty person I have now won't return any of my emails. I have had to send warranty requests with my complaints. They responded to that and never came back again. We had the concrete company damage our stucco when it was done in 2007 and are still trying to get it fixed. Sorry I am ranting now. Good luck!

Holmes replaced the concrete on our patio as it was a safety hazard. However, when they replaced the cement they broke the seal on our foundation and our basement began to leak when it rained or when the snow melted. After repeated calls to Holmes and getting no response other than "You wanted your cement replaced, you can deal with the broken seal on your own". I will probably never purchase a Holmes build home again.

BTW, it has been less than 6 months later, and the replaced patio looks almost as bad as it did in the first place.
