Age discrimination for adult swim time? Are you kidding? There isn't any other way a person could swim laps for exercise!

I was a bit shocked when I heard age discrimination was an issue at the pool this summer. It's OK in numerous other communities to set aside "adult only" time, why not Daybreak?

If people want full access for their children, they should offset the fees paid by adults without children that can't appreciate and use the facilities as they would like.

I like children. I have children. But, there are instances where adults should be allowed to participate in adult only functions. There are reasons to have adult only swim, one of them is safety.

If Mr/Ms Daybreak resident wants equal opportunity for their children, let them hire an attorney to get it. I doubt they will be willing to step up to the $$$ plate just to eliminate one hour of adult swim time. Or, we could ask CCMC to "man up" and say "NO" to ridiculous charges of age discrimination.

I don’t see anything on the Daybreak sign that says - All children, all the time.

Very well said Girl... I couldn't believe it either when one of the lifeguards informed my husband and I of the new rule. I could just as easily claim discrimination based on the fact I don't have kids. I love kids and will eventually have my own, but for now, I prefer not to be hit in the head with toys, jumped on and kicked when trying to enjoy the community pool. Last I checked, our community was supposed to be about diversity so that empty nesters, singles, etc. could enjoy it just as much as young families. I don't see that happening when everything has to revolve around children... I'm starting to have flashbacks of the movies rated above G being banned... ahhh!

"Just me" and "Girl", the issue is one of safety for all as I see it. That's why exclusive times are set aside. "Just", your flashback isn't so far-fetched.

Soon, someone will complain about the 'adults-only" events such as the Casino Night and Valentine's Ball and we'll be dodging "the unattended" as we try to enjoy ourselves.

Restrictions aren't discrimination and preferences aren't prejudices. The HOA caved in to avoid the same type of shallow finger-pointing that the movies caused.
