Aren't the PV panels horribly expensive. I did some cursory research and found the payoff to be something like 20 years. Am I wrong about this?

They are not cheap, but as the technology gets better and more companies enter into the market competition, prices are coming down. Also, there are pretty sizeable government rebates and tax breaks, as well as rebates from Rocky Mountain Power. I look at the other paybacks associated with them also, the environmental aspect and the value they would add to my home. Imagine you are home shopping and found two identical houses, except one had PV panels. Which would you choose? Energy efficient homes are going to be in huge demand, as the continued sales in Daybreak are already proving.
