Just out of curiosity, has this site or any homeowners done a story or pitched a story to the media in regards to our complaints against, Kennecott, BOD or the HOA? I have contacted KUTV2 news in hopes to get a response for them to come out and expose our concerns to the general public. I am a frustrated homeowner who feels that this community is being run by a "Socialist" clan making things unpleasant for the homeowners and completely ignoring our concerns. I am fed up and I want to do something about it other than going to a BOD QTR meeting where I know they will continue to ignore our concerns and do "quick fixes" to appear as if they are truly listening to us? I will rally in my neighborhood and get petitions started and use a similar poll as this site to get neighbors truly involve and expose to the general public on how things are really being run out here!! Fed Up Homeowner!

A while back, someone contacted Gebhardt. He told them to document any promises which were reneged on. Realizing that all plans change, with refinements and economic downturns, he stated, as I recall that he needed proof in order to proceed. Kennecott is a major advertiser and the media will act but it has to be concrete and substantiated. You are not alone in this instance, however.

Thanks for that update! I am hoping that the media would not be shy or make it difficult to hear and report the concerns of the homeowners especially if strength is the numbers. I truly choose to not believe that the Media would shy away just because Kennecott is a major advertiser? Which is why I truly believe a homeowners rally would provide that voice so our concerns could be heard.

What are your specific concerns?

Currently, my MAJOR concern - The homeowners rights to their backyard landscaping. Especially when they have privately fenced yards. We built our home with Hamlet and the current landscaping was provided by the builder. I understand the purpose of the HOA/BOD in enforcing some rules and I can understand the enforcement only when a homeowner has deliberately neglected their grounds. Such as dead grass, overgrown weeds, trash that is not from the "construction workers" in their lawns. Anything ruled unsightly such as these items I can understand. But I am having a really hard time when my neighbors and my family, get slapped with a warning letter implying that our backyards are not in compliance due to a miscommunication between the HOA and Builder. We did not have a say so when our original landscape was put in and according to our builders, (poor guys..love them) they were laying the yards according to the HOA/BOD's rules. Needless to say, everyone called Hamlet and they quickly acted in defense of the homeowners in trying to resolve the issue. We are still waiting to hear the outcome of those meetings, but IT ABSOLUTELY BOILS MY BLOOD when a HOA/BOD thinks they have the right on what I can and cannot do in my private backyard!! Or the fact that no where was there a "by the way" the homeowners could submit a Variance for Landscaping! I have contacted an Attorney to see what the rights of the homeowners to their own properties and hopefully get something concrete to fight for my rights to my property. After all...WE PAID BIG BUCKS TO move to Daybreak to live in a community where would not feel being run down by an HOA/BOD that is becoming a HOA NAZI! It's MY HOUSE, MY BACKYARD! Today at the last minute I heard of a Garden Affair which apparently homeowners could submit landscape approvals, geeze it would have been nice to know ahead of time. BUT AGAIN WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO DO THAT!! IT'S OUR PROPERTY! I love my street, love my neighboors but I am so scared and starting to think if it was a bad idea to buy in a HOA run community? Which is why I strongly believe that if you live here and you feel that your concerns are not being heard or you feel that you are living in a socialist HOA/BOD run community...you should quick complaining and do something about it, which is what I plan to do.

Another thing, and my second concern with living in Daybreak? I am so scared that this is just the beginning and the Daybreak's HOA/BOD will give the homewoners something to really boil about due to their mis management of funds. I hear that their basically broke, so as homeowners I would take this as a warning that things will definitely get worst. The HOA/BOD will be like hawks scoping people's properties, stalking homeowners at the parks and ammenities to fine us anyway possible for money of mis-managed funds!! Like a Bank or Credit Card with no bail out, so what do they do...they strike the consumer with additional fees and hikes in rate. You will see it's going to get super ugly! I am so SORRY if I sound all Negative...I am not..I am just upset and please forgive the negativity. I have lived here since 2007 and again I love my house, love my neighboors, there are wonderful ammeneties here....but it's what I have seen and heard happening in the last two years dissapoint me and downright scare me of what could happen if hoeowners do not speak up. I am angry and upset and hope that this wonderful community does not let the HOA/BOD run it to the ground.
