Hamlet Homes Townhomes concerns being addressed Print E-mail

Apparently there have been some Hamlet Homes Townhouse homeowners who have had some issues with their rain gutters in East Lake Village. Homeowners are saying that some of the rain gutters were not installed with a slight angle so they do not drain properly and they are overflowing. The overflowing is causing water damage on the some of the Townhomes and is causing some flooding problems. It is good to see Hamlet Homes willing to address this issue, Hamlet Homes in my opinion has the best customer service in Daybreak and always fixes any warranty issues(Rainey Homes is a close second), Destination Homes is dead last in customer service in my opinion and rarely honors any warranty issues.

.

If you are a Hamlet Homes Townhouse owner and have having some of these issues please feel free to contact Dave Irwin, he is a VP at Hamlet Homes.

If it is one thing I learned the hard way is that Utah has year round soccer and if you want to play you have to get your kids signed up in May or else they can’t play in the fall or the next spring. So I hope this helps some parents out there get their kids signed up in time. Here is some info below the league has out there…

.

Registration fees are $70.00 for the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 year. That includes a jersey, shorts, socks, fees for the city, uysa fees and trophy.

.

Parents and coaches if you are signing up with a team please do the following: *All players must put down the same ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (not charter, home school or jr. high)*Every player must put down the coaches kid as the player they want to play with.

Registration has begun for the first ever SoJo marathon and Half-marathon in South Jordan, Utah.  The starting line is at the old Copperton Park in Copperton, Utah. Organizers say this will be a fast course with more than 1400 feet of drop, and only 300 feet of climb.

.

Those putting on the event say they are working to get the SoJo marathon certified as a Boston Marathon qualifier.

With Spring here there are some sprinkler Issues you need to know about... Print E-mail

Sprinkler issues will be a major problem this year due to water line changes on the 114th expansion(this effected us last year as well). Apparently when some of the water lines were changed/upgraded they were re-installed without any filters/screens to prevent small sediment from getting in the water system. This is going to be causing a lot of problems for a good number of South Jordan residents and unfortunately a number of yards and basements have flooded already.

.

What’s happening is small rocks about half the sizes of a marble (maybe just a bit smaller) are getting in residents sprinkler systems and are getting caught in the sprinkler system valves. Once that happens the water continues to run until you go into your basement and shut off the water. Once you do that you need to find the valve that is clogged up and open the valve and get the rock (s) out. All it takes is an hour or more for the running sprinklers to start doing real damage, so I suggest running your sprinklers early in the morning and perhaps having someone home when they are being run. Keep in mind that this could happen at any time, your sprinklers could work fine for weeks and then one day a rock could get into your system and your flooding. This happened to me and at least a dozen poeple I know, just last year  (probably many more people as well) after my system was turned on, so be careful. A few local fire stations have also already had issues with the sediment getting into their equipment from the water system the past year or so as well.
