  The schedule is set for the Herriman Mustangs inaugural football season (yes the High School being built west of Daybreak on 118th by the Sunstone neighborhood).  This will be the first ever season for Herriman High School and its sports teams.  Coach Larry Wilson says so much of the football team’s traditions will be shaped by this first year. .   The season opener is August 20th against Hillcrest High School.  Herriman will debut its state of the art football stadium equipped with a field that is the same kind used by the Dallas Cowboys in Cowboys Stadium. .   There are several potential rivalries on the schedule including a September showdown with football powerhouse Bingham High School. The Mustangs close out their season against the Timberwolves of Riverton.  This may be the Mustangs perennial rival in years to come, given the similarities of the communities, and proximity of the cities. .
