Costco coming to South Jordan sooner than later…?

Now we all know that Costco owns the land on the SE corner of Bangerter Hwy and 104th South and over the past 2 years my sources say that Costco has changed their mind about building and opening the South Jordan Costco which is planned for sometime in the future many, many times. Supposedly Costco has bought land all over the US and has waited years in some places until they start building. Now we all have heard the rumors about slow West Valley Costco sales catching the eye of the Costco brass and that those numbers are the reason that Costco is still waiting, I am not so sure about that. The one thing I do know is that Costco did indicate when they first bought the land that they would not start building anything until the construction of 104th was completed, which was done late last year.

.

So what do you know? Well it looks like some serious infrastructure is being built on their property ever since the construction of the 104th expansion was completed (and no Mr. Whoever, I am not talking about the Car Wash). I have some feelers out to my contacts about it and could hear something soon or not, it’s a pretty tight lipped project…

.

What do you know?  feel free to comment...

So they won't build one until the sales are up but to me the sales won't go up until they are closer to a lot of the customers. Why go all the way to West Valley or Sandy when I can go to 2 different Sam's Clubs that are closer?

Once there is a Costco on that corner you can bet most of those who aren't members now will be.

Just talked with someone from Costco yesterday. They are looking at a possible two more years. They are still waiting for the West Valley store to improve sales, by an addition $4 million annually before they'll consider building the South Jordan location. As others have stated, the construction going on now is a storage facility.

There is a storage facility going in - that is the building that you see from Bangerter. Was hoping it might be a sign that Costco was going up but don't think so. Would LOVE a Costco closer to home!

My husband and I were wondering if they were in fact building it just the other day. I hope so as we would certainly become members with one so close to home. I can't wait to hear more!
