          Daybreak Elementary Fun Run Fundraiser
                      Thursday, September 16th @ 9:00 a.m.    Â
This is our third annual Fun Run Fundraiser! By having this kind of fundraiser, we are able to keep 100% of the monies collected to use for the many wonderful programs at our school such as field trips, assemblies, Reflections, the spelling bee, drug awareness and safety programs, teacher appreciation, Dolphins Doing Good, and more. The Fun Run also encourages physical fitness, school spirit, school unity, and most of all FUN! This will be our only fundraiser this year (PTA), so we are hoping to raise pledges of $20,000 -- that is a goal of about $20 per student.    Â
Here’s how it works. Each student has been given a yellow Pledge Packet which was handed out after our kick-off assembly. Your child will collect pledges from parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors. Please collect the money at the time of the pledge. Pledge packets (and money) will be due on September 10th. Parents, don’t forget to talk to your employer about matching your donation. Many companies will match non-profit donations made by employees. Â

Yep it is true, parents beware...Toys R us is coming to the District and is opening tomorrow, August 20th and will be in the space that was occupied by DSW shoes (the store across from the bike shop). All in know is that I am in serious trouble, my kids are going to hound me every time we go to the District…
I talked to the corporate folks for Toys R us and this is going to be a test location, and will be open for the 2010 holiday season and if they are busy they will be looking to put a store in our area since Costco will start building this fall and should be open sometime next year.
