I took my dog to the park the other night. She had a good time sniffing around the yard. Thanks to everyone who had a part in making this a reality. I'm curious, though, will there eventually be some grass in the enclosed area?

Well, the pig people have made their way to the dog park.

People, even though the rules haven't been posted yet you are responsible for picking up after your dog!!!!!!!! Thats the rule at any dog park!!! Stop by Sandy or Taylorsville, you will see their rules upon entry.

I can understand missing a piece of poo here and there on a rare occasion, especially when you have to search the field for an on the run bathroom break. However, leaving a fresh pile on the rocks, three feet from the bench is the ultimate in filthy laziness.

So, this weeks Thoughtless Piggy award goes to the person with a smallish dog that left a fresh pile of dog crap three feet from the bench in the large dog park. It certainly added something extra to our enjoyment of the afternoon.

And, no, I didn't pick it up for you. If you are still incredibly lazy and can't bend over to pick up your own dogs crap by tomorrow, I suppose I will. Why, because I care.

People can't even pick up their horse size dog's crap on the paths by the lake so I'm not really all that surprised. At least that dog crap was from a smaller dog. I've passed by poops that are bigger than my dog, now that's gross! Sad to hear the pig people are still alive and well...
Still need to make my way over to the dog park one of these days. My husband finally found it on sat!

The Dog Park is in deplorable condition: the grass is over 5 feet in places, the water valves (farm-style) have broken several times (but work at present), weeds with pickers, burrs and barbs are present everywhere and the wild grasses are in "seed" so the seeds are barbed and delicious to dogs. We pick burrs and prickly seeds out of the dogs' paws and legs for an hour or so after every visit. Our "baby" was sick from eating the delectable grass and threw up everywhere accompanied with hacking and
choking.

We were promised that the park would be dragged to eliminate the weed problems, several months ago, and nothing was done.

Last year, we voluntarily mowed the park and kept it weed-free. The HOA now has control and it's a disgrace. I can't fathom how KLC continues to advertise it as a "premier" dog amenity. Keep away or use it at your own risk. I wish the news was better; we worked so hard to get KLC to put it in and it's a mess.

That's a shame that the dog park has become yet another one of KLC's half assed attempts to look like they're trying to give us some amenities. I was really looking forward to this at first, but the location was really crappy and then they didn't bother keeping it up. To add insult to injury, the fact that they charge $15 for access is just really appalling.
