The brief version of my story is as follows:

1) Signed agreement with Destination Homes. They changed their prices several times and were very un-professional in their sales process, so we backed out and got our deposit back.

2) We signed and agreement to build a home with Richmond American. We were building on Weiss Drive and missed our completion date 4 times. Finally after numerous issues and the home not being built according to the plan that we signed off on, we backed out. We hired an attorney and got all of our deposits back.

3) We went to Hamlet Homes and found a great home at a great price. The people were great and the process was a breeze. We are so happy we had the issues with Destination and Richmond American because it got us to where we are now. Hamlet has been great to work with and they have been very responsive to minor warranty claims we have had.

For my bet Bangerter is the top builder, but at this point they will not be building in Village 3. They do still have a couple homes plus some additional lots available in Eastlake.

When Warrenty support is needed Kyle is responsive.

I have been told by several people that Hamlet Homes are great to work with building. Bangeter has also gone out of it's way to help make the building process smoother for some of my friends.

Gold medallion homes has not built in Eastlake yet as far as I know. From the info on the latest map, they were slated to open a model in eastlake this spring. I haven't seen their row homes pop up there yet. From what I have heard many of the home builders are in a tight spot because construction material costs have gone up and they are having to compete with the glut of unsold/foreclosed homes on the market. I doubt they can solidly commit to village 3 until the market clears up a bit.

I just have to say that Destination did a great job for us. They worked really hard to get us in our house before I had a baby. (Baby due same day as house was supposed to be completed.) We have had no real problems and everything has been dealt with in a timely manor. I heard the horror stories from people who built with them early on but no one around me has any major complaints that I've heard. I would build with them again.
