I am on the pool committee (actually started it), an yes the lower level folks at KL say we have to pay for the lot...however the President of KL (Don Whyte) told me personally that he would talk to myself and the committee about the lot after the committee gets a proposal together for building the pool or should I say pool type facility (I believe we can explain to him why the lot should be given to the community and not sold to the homeowners, which is ridiculous). And the cost will be more like $400-$500 per homeowner (a one time fee, that could be spread out of 1 year, so like $100-$125 per quarter) and the ongoing cost would be much cheaper than the Eastlake Pool since the Homeowners will be in charge of finding bids and approving the ongoing costs, unlike Eastlake where we had no say. And it will matter what the homeowners vote for or not, the HOA works for the homeowners and is on an annual contract that can be renewed each year, so they could stay or go at any point. The homeowners have more power than you think, maybe not voting on the BOD, but by public opinion. Just think what is the best asset in Daybreak? not the lake, its the current homeowners....there is power in numbers.

However in the end if KL refuses to give the lot to the homeowners for free, then there will be no pool, just the weed lot. I doubt that will happen though...we will see

So the building cost of the pool would be a (1) time fee. And then we would still have to pay a seperate fee each year for the maintance and staffing of the pool.

Should I just post my checking account information here so everyone can continue to withdrawl my money?!

well...nothing will happen if KL doesn't give the lot to us for free...and we most likely won't see any rises in the cost to maintain considering we are still auditing the HOA budget and finding extra revenue, and besides if the stars allign and we do get a pool type area, the homeowners will be able to choose the vendor, not the HOA, so we will be able to get the best deal out there...thats if all the stars allign...we'll see

I can't believe that they won't donate the lot. What else can they use it for? Would all homeowners help with the cost or just Founders? I think it is unfair for Founders to have to shoulder the costs. What a mess. What did they originally have planned for that patch of weeds?

You made me laugh.

I don't care about a pool, I want my HOA back down to where it was when I signed on to live here.
